Frequently Asked Questions
How can I enroll in lessons?
To enroll, simply contact us to schedule a free trial. Once the trial is completed and lessons are scheduled to continue, you’ll be provided with an access code for the “Enroll Now” page and will be able to create an account.
Why is an access code required on the “Enroll Now” page?
The access is required to access the payment portal to ensure you are not charged until lessons are scheduled and set to begin.
What method books do you use?
Our instructors use a variety of method books, based on what works best with the student’s learning style, as well as individual student and teacher preferences. Bastien and Faber Piano Adventures are two of the series we have used the most often.
Are there any other expenses?
Students can expect to purchase lesson books approximately every 6–9 months depending on individual pacing and will generally cost around $30 per level, and a set of flashcards may be recommended but isn’t required. This can vary and will be based on instructor recommendation and student preferences. There may eventually be a recital fee of up to $10/student to help cover part of the room rental, but there will never be any ticket or other recital costs. Currently, recitals are free to attend and any change in that will be communicated with families well in advance.
What is your tuition and cancellation policy?
Tuition is due by the first lesson of each month. If fewer than four lessons are scheduled in a month, tuition will be prorated. In months with five weeks, the fifth lesson is complimentary and will not be made up if missed. If a lesson needs to be canceled with at least 24 hours’ notice, it may be rescheduled or credited toward the following month’s tuition. Any lessons canceled by the teacher will always be credited or rescheduled. Same-day cancellations are not rescheduled or credited. Life happens! Please let us know of any schedule changes as soon as possible and we will do our best to accommodate changes whenever possible. If lessons are terminated with 24hrs notice, any remaining paid lessons will be fully refunded.
What is your teaching philosophy?
We tailor each lesson to the student’s individual goals, learning style, and pacing, combining high expectations with thoughtful encouragement. This approach helps students build confidence, develop strong technique, and stay motivated as they progress. Individual teaching methods will vary by teacher.
Our focus is on developing a lifelong appreciation for music and creativity along with a strong technical foundation in a supportive and engaging environment.
