Frequently Asked Questions
How can I enroll in lessons?
To enroll, simply contact us to schedule a free trial. Once the trial is completed and lessons are scheduled to continue, you’ll be provided with an access code for the “Enroll Now” page and will be able to create an account.
Why is an access code required on the “Enroll Now” page?
The access is required to access the payment portal to ensure you are not charged until lessons are scheduled and set to begin.
What method books do you use?
I use a variety of method books depending on what works best for each individual student. Bastien Piano Basics is the series I generally prefer in most cases. I also use Faber Piano Adventures and Alfred’s Basic Piano, as well as the younger and adult versions of the Bastien and Faber series.
Are there any other expenses?
Students can expect to purchase lesson books approximately every 6–9 months depending on individual pacing and will generally cost around $30 per level, and a set of flashcards may be recommended but isn’t required. I will provide any additional music that is recommended outside of the lesson books. There may be a recital fee of up to $10/student to help cover part of the room rental, but there will never be any ticket or other recital costs.
What is your cancellation policy?
Tuition is due by the first lesson of each month. If fewer than four lessons are scheduled in a month, tuition will be prorated. In months with five weeks, the fifth lesson is complimentary and will not be made up if missed. If a lesson needs to be canceled with at least 48 hours’ notice, it may be rescheduled or credited toward the following month’s tuition. Any lessons canceled by the teacher will always be credited or rescheduled. Same-day cancellations are not guaranteed and won’t be prorated. Life happens! Please let me know of any schedule changes as soon as possible and I will do my best to accommodate changes whenever possible. If lessons are terminated with 48hrs notice, any remaining paid lessons will be fully refunded.
What types of rewards may be offered to students?
Rewards may include stickers, candy, and small toys or craft items. Candy is kept separate from the other rewards and only the rewards you authorize will be offered to the student. Kosher/Halal and dye/sugar free options are available, or candy can simply be left out of the reward box as well!
What is your teaching philosophy?
We tailor each lesson to the student’s individual goals, learning style, and pacing, combining high expectations with thoughtful encouragement. This approach helps students build confidence, develop strong technique, and stay motivated as they progress.
Our focus is on developing a lifelong appreciation for music and creativity along with a strong technical foundation in a supportive and engaging environment.
